Desexing Recommendations We recommend all puppies be desexed. The optimum age is between 5-6 months of age just prior to the animal reaching sexual maturity. Desexing not only prevents unwanted pregnancy, but helps prevent pets from roaming, fighting, and greatly reduces the chance of developing some forms of cancer (Females – Uterine & Mammary Cancers and in Males – Prostate and testicular cancer).
