Dry eye is a condition seen in dogs, usually as they get older The symptoms are red and inflamed eyes and recurrentĀ discharge from the eye. The discharge is thick and sticky and tends to collect in the corner of the eye. Dogs often rub or paw at the eyes as they feel dry and gritty. Dry eye results from either inadequate tear production or poor quality tears.
