Chocolate is Toxic to dogs and cats!
Around Easter time Vet clinics see a lot of pets who have eaten Easter eggs! Chocolate contains substances like caffeine and theobromine which dogs and cats are very sensitive to. Different types of chocolate contain varying amounts of these substances.
The darker and more bitter the chocolate, the greater the danger to your pet! Clinical signs vary from vomiting, diarrhoea, increased thirst, panting or restlessness, excessive urination, to a racing heart rate, muscle spasms, and seizures. If you catch your dog eating your chocolate this Easter then call the Vet straight away!
